Therapy & Coaching for Autistic & ADHD Adults
If you've found your way here, let me have a guess at where you're at...
Something's reached breaking point. Maybe it's full-blown burnout, the kind where even the basics feel like too much. Or maybe it's the slower, creeping realisation that the life you've built doesn't actually fit you, and if you're honest, never quite did. Either way, some tired part of you has drawn a line: I can't keep doing it like this. I know how that can feel. Like everyone else got the manual for being a functioning adult and yours got lost in the post. Like you're lazy, or too much, or just fundamentally broken?

You're not broken, I promise.
You've likely been running an autistic or ADHD brain on instructions written for a completely different one, so of course you're exhausted, and of course "just try harder" has never worked. It was never going to.
This is therapy and coaching rolled into one, for people who are done forcing themselves to fit and ready to finally understand how their brain actually works, and build a life around that for a change. I specialise in working with autistic and ADHD adults, and I'm neurodivergent myself, so you won't spend your first six sessions explaining what RSD is. I'm also an NCPS Accredited Registrant Psychotherapist, so practical stuff sits on top of real clinical training.
Sessions work around you and whatever you're carrying that week, rather than following a fixed structure. Online, or in person in Nottingham and Derby. No fixed timeframe, we carry on for as long as it's genuinely useful.
Who this is for?
You might recognise yourself here:
✓ You've done CBT, or other therapy that never quite got how your brain works, or you've just gritted your teeth and tried harder. You might even have been handed piles of therapy homework that made the burnout worse.
✓ You feel permanently behind, however fast you run. There are 47 tabs open in your head at all times and not one of them will close.
✓ Your emotions tend to arrive like uninvited guests, all at once, usually at the worst possible moment, and nobody ever taught you what to do with them.
✓ Somewhere in you is the suspicion that you're the problem. And a small, hopeful bit that wonders if, maybe, you're not.
Mostly, what you want isn't complicated. To stop feeling behind. To stop feeling like something's wrong with you. To build a life that feels like yours, rather than one you're only just holding together.
What actually changes...(realistically)
On the practical side, we might work on things like:
Working with emotional dysregulation
Working with RSD
Burnout recovery
Mapping your sensory needs and support
Building distress tolerance skills
And underneath the practical stuff, the bigger shifts:
The constant background hum of what's wrong with me gets quieter
You start treating yourself like someone you're actually on the side of
Your emotions become something you can work with
You get a clearer sense of who you are under all the masking, and, often for the first time, what you actually want
What "therapy and coaching" means
Therapy
The therapy bit is where we go into the deeper stuff. The grief (and there's often so much grief). The years of masking so well you lost track of who was underneath. The emotions that have been quietly running the show. This isn't about fixing you, it's about understanding yourself, with a bit more room to be gentle with whatever we find.
Coaching
The coaching bit is where we get practical. The strategies, the tools, the systems, the actual how of getting through a week. And not in a "have you tried a to-do list?" way (you probably have, and it's in a drawer somewhere). We build things that genuinely work with your brain.
In the same session we can go from why does this keep happening? to right, what do we actually do about it on Tuesday?, because sometimes we might need both.
How we'll actually work together..
Early on, we get a feel for what's going on and what you actually want to be different, not a rigid plan, just a shared sense of direction. From there, each session moves between the therapy and the coaching depending on what the week's thrown at you: some weeks are all feelings, some are all logistics, most are a bit of both. Every 6 weeks or so we take stock: where you're at with the goals you set, what's helping, and what isn't, then adjust from there.
We meet regularly, usually weekly or fortnightly, for as long as it's genuinely useful. Each 60-minute session is £70, paid as you go.
£70 per session. 60 minute sessions. Paid as you go.
Free Consultation Call
Choosing the right therapist / coach is important, so I offer a free 20-minute consultation call. This is an opportunity for us to get to know each other, discuss what’s been going on for you, and talk about what you’re hoping to achieve through therapy and coaching. It’s ultimately a chance for you to see if I am the right therapist for you.
